Tamera and her sister Tia have carved out a name for themselves as a team, and individually over the past few decades as actresses, hosts, reality stars and now moms. Tamera tells me her latest mom challenge has been potty training, specifically nighttime wetting. It’s a subject all parents deal with and yet there really isn’t a lot of tools to tackle it. She’s partnered with GoodNites to work through this with her son Aden. She says she thought she was done with potty training, but then realized her son was still experiencing wetness at night. What mom hasn’t gone through that?
I think it’s wonderful she’s speaking up and sharing her personal experience with this. A lot of kids still experience night wetting and there are ways to help them. In fact, 1 in 6 kids experience nighttime wetting. Most often it’s due to the fact that bladders are not fully developed and the nerves that control the bladder and brain are still maturing and forming connections. It’s something that evolves naturally as they grow.
She also shares what, or specifically who, gave her the confidence to become a mom. She credits her own mother with instilling in her and her sister the confidence to go after her dreams. And you will love what she says to encourage parents in the entertainment industry on finding yourself in the hectic world of Hollywood.
