Now that Thanksgiving is over, we can finally talk about Christmas! In fact we can’t stop talking about the Merry Farm Christmas celebration at Knott’s Berry Farm. As a Knott’s Partner I was invited to bring the family to the park to explore all of their holiday magic.

The town of Calico is an old ghost town that’s all decked out for the holidays. Christmas decorations line the old country streets as do a lot of local artisans selling their homemade goods. You can find everything from baby bibs to candles and old fashioned candy. It’s a great place to pick up a unique Christmas gift! And don’t forget to stop my Mrs. Klaus’ kitchen for your homemade cookie decorating kit.

Our first stop was in Santa’s Christmas Cabin to check out the treats inside and get some face time with the man himself. Santa was there taking pictures and requests from all his fans. And the great thing about the cabin is that you can get a hot chocolate, some warm nuts and milk and cookies while you relax. Or if you’re a big kid, you can step outside cabin for something a little boozier. Like beer.

Next we headed to The Birdcage Theater to watch one of the many holiday themed shows Knott’s showcases. We saw A Christmas Carol and we were instantly transported back in time with this holiday classic. Next on our list of shows was Merry Christmas, Snoopy! (on ice!) And let me tell you, Snoopy knows his way around on skates. Chan was mesmerized as the characters danced and skated across the ice. Lots of fun holiday music in this one as well.

Not to be outdone was the rest of the Peanuts gang in A Peanuts Guide To Christmas. This fun little show is right next to Woodstock’s Airmail ride which Chan wanted to do over and over again. The entire Peanuts area of the park is adorably decorated for Christmas. As we were walking through, the soundtrack of A Charlie Brown Christmas was playing and I suddenly felt like a kid again. There’s just something warm and nostalgic about that music that makes me think of a simpler time and I was so excited to share that with my daughter over a giant cup of hot chocolate.

All of the rides you love are open as well during the Merry Farm event as well as so much more. Carolers usher you into the holiday season as you stroll through the park. You’ll even get one-on-one encounters with live actors and characters dressed in their holiday best. We wanted to stay all night, but all good things must come to an end. However we had such a great time that we look forward to adding this to our holiday traditions.
