It’s been quite a year for actress Kat Canipe. She got engaged, then her Back To The Future engagement photo and Halloween themed proposal video went viral in a matter of seconds. Both moments capturing their personalities and love perfectly.
Now millions of eyes around the world are watching to see what will happen when she and fiance Alec Wells walk down the aisle in a few months. No pressure!
It’s also the first podcast in October and Kat is a huge horror movie fan. So of course I wanted to her come in and talk about witches, Halloween, and why Robin Lively won’t be on my show. Seriously, why won’t she come on?
Anyway, also in our conversation Kat explains what really happened after she went viral. Did she start getting offers for big budget movies? I’ve often been curious about this myself. The internet seems to collectively wait with bated breath for the next viral star. Then just as quickly, dispose of them, and move on. But there are real people behind these internet sensations who are quickly thrust into the spotlight to be praised or demonized by the public. Some of them want the instant fame, and some just thought it would be funny to make a vine of themselves dancing awkwardly in a Marshalls. Scary!
Speaking of scary, one of the main reasons I asked Kat to come on is because she’s my friend (yay!) and she’s the co-host of the Boys and Ghouls podcast with my other friend (yay!) Marshall Hicks (hey hey, ho ho). This pair is a wealth of information on all things horror, and pop culture. If you are a fan of scary movies and the world of fright, listen to this podcast. Stat! You can find them on iTunes or on all the social media sites like Instagram @boysandghoulspodcast Twitter @boysandghouls as well as tumblr and pinterest. Whew!
Kat’s other podcast Carrie On covers one of my favorite shows of all time, Sex And The City. I know I know, so girly! But I really feel like there’s never been a show like it since. It captured a moment in time on television and I was so glad I got to be a part of their world. It is also my favorite machine to play at the casino! Listen to Carrie On to relive all your favorite episodes with Kat and Alec. You can follow them on Facebook here and on Instagram and Twitter.
Because she’s such an expert podcaster I wanted to ask her thoughts on the medium. But Only because I wanted to call out the other new podcasters that are trying to jank my ideas. I see you ladies! And there’s nothing I’m gonna do about it! (But please stop.)
You can also see Kat October 8-11 at Let Live Theater in Hollywood in a new show called SPOOK NIGHT. If you can’t tell by now Kat and I had a lot of fun in this episode. October is a special month for her not only because of her love of horror movies, it’s also her birthday month, and when she got engaged. And now, she can add her first appearance on Motherhood in Hollywood to that list of memorable moments. Awww 🙂
