Some things just belong together. Like steak and wine for example. Sure one can exist without the other, but why should it? Thankfully at Fleming’s Steakhouse it doesn’t have to. I had the pleasure of seeing first hand their passion for perfectly cooked steak and quality wines at a preview event for the new Fleming’s in Pasadena.

Fleming's Pasadena

The restaurant itself is world-class. It has beautiful outdoor seating, a roomy central bar area, and a large, but cozy dining room. After some passed hors d’oeuvres we were welcomed into what I called, the “let’s get mama some wine room.” That’s because Fleming’s presented it’s entire Fleming’s 100 Wine List for guests to try. Let’s just say I didn’t want to leave this room. Ever.

Eventually we did leave but not before we tasted delicious wines from Migration by Duckhorn, Fire and Flood, and Predator. Then it was off to our table of fabulous people for dinner. We dined with my amazing mama friends Laura Nickerson and Laura Stotland from South Bay Mommies and Daddies. Our hubbies were with us so it instantly felt like a date night.

I ordered the ribeye because that’s my steak. You know how everyone has a drink? Or a type of cigarette they smoke? Well my thing is a ribeye. If it’s on the menu, I’m ordering it. And this steak was exceptional. Perfectly cooked, with a crispy char on the outside. Honestly from the salad to the carrot cake desert, and the sides of chipotle cheddar mac and cheese, truffle mashed potatoes and crispy brussels sprouts, everything was perfection.

Fleming's PasadenaTo add a cherry to the top of this decadent evening, the staff and employees of the restaurant couldn’t have been nicer. They were ready to replace a dropped napkin, standing by to refill glasses, and give helpful tips about the wine. Everywhere we turned someone was there to make sure we had the best experience possible. And I can honestly say, we did. Dining at Fleming’s is an experience we won’t soon forget.

I just realized another new pairing that goes together perfectly: me and Fleming’s.

Fleming’s Pasadena is now open for lunch and dinner.
