The Green Meanie is back and you can experience Grinchmas and Joyful Holidays in Super Nintendo World only at Universal Studios!
Let’s talk about the tasty treats and must-have gifts from Universal Studios that you can only get during Universal Holidays. Channing and I went to a special Creator Day preview with our friends Kathy and Charley to get a closer look at the food and swag. And we danced with the Grinch himself to see if it would help his mood (side note, it didn’t!)
When you enter the studio gates, the park is filled with holiday charm. I love Universal during this time of year. Christmas music is playing throughout the park, and everyone is in a much better mood than when it’s 100 degrees in August.
We went right to the plaza to see the Grinch when we arrived. And he’s as Grinchy as ever! That should be first on your list of what to do for Grinchmas because the lines can get very long and you don’t want to miss meeting the Green Meanie! Pro tip: if you’re with a group, take turns standing in line while the rest gets snacks or rides other rides. The Grinch line can be very long!
While you’re in the plaza, stop by the “Who-bilicious Treats” stand. You can order whimsical favorites like Who Pudding, Whoville Present Cookie, Cocoa Cookie, Grinch Donut, 2 Sizes Too Small Cupcake, Who-bilicious Cinnamon Roll, Heart Grew 3 Sizes Sugar Cookie and The Grinch™ Heart Lemonade.
Then stop for ornament decorating, a photo moment with Max and the Whos like The Mayor and Cindy Lou. There are several Whos walking around that make the event feel so much more immersive. Then check the schedule to see when Cindy Lou will be reading to the kids and what time the evening Tree Lighting ceremony will take place. That’s the most magical part so you don’t want to miss it!
But that’s not all! You know Universal has to go big for the holidays. SUPER NINTENDO WORLD joins this year’s festivities with holiday décor, inviting guests to celebrate alongside Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and Toad within the Mushroom Kingdom. Guests can shop for new, exclusive holiday-themed merchandise, including a holiday sweater featuring a snowman adorned in a Mario cap and scarf, a Mario snowman plush, and a Mario snowman headband, along with apparel, drinkware, and more.
