During the Disney Creators Conference I was asked to be a part of the Her Universe Fashion Show! My friend and Her Universe founder Ashley Eckstein invited me to be a part of showing off the new line of “Star Wars” fashion and I nearly fainted. Me? In a fashion show? WEARING STAR WARS CLOTHES? If the all caps doesn’t convey my excitement I don’t know what does.
She also told me that I would get a special touch of pixie dust from Disney’s Character Couture team. It’s a new service that lets Disney adults live our their Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique dreams from the comfort of their Disney Resorts. Here’s how it works: makeup artists and hair stylists can be hired to give you a Disney makeover of your dreams. Want to be Cinderella? No problem. Want to be Daisy? No problem. Want to look like an empire sympathizer from Batuu? They got you covered.
So into hair and makeup I went to be transformed into my dream Star Wars role. It took 3 Character Couture artists about an hour to braid, twist, paint and glitter me into this magical vision.
They even put a mini red “lightsaber” in my hair for added effect.
These are the participating salons where you can book a Character Couture makeover at Disney or have them come to your room:
- The Salon at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
- Salon by the Springs at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
- La Vida Salon at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort
- Ship Shape Salon at Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resort
- In-room services are offered for an additional fee at participating Walt Disney World Resort hotels.
Ashley picked out the most amazing Star Wars black and white shirt and leggings for me to wear. This was the perfect choice for me because I practically live in my leggings. These not only had Star Wars emblazoned on the leg but they were super soft and very stretchy. The minute the fashion show music started I couldn’t wait to strut my stuff down the runway. Have you ever had that moment where you feel like, this is where I belong? Mine is anywhere on a stage, at anytime.
I loved my look so much that I had to head to Batuu in Galaxy’s Edge to get some pictures so complete the experience. Take a look at some of the shots Chris got as I full immersed myself in character. Then head over to HerUniverse.com to see more epic fashion from the Star Wars line.
