Orange Is The New Black star Beth Dover wasn’t sure she would ever be a mom. In fact she tells me she was perfectly fine if that was something that never happened for her. But boy is she glad it did. She’s now mom to a sweet 2-year-old boy, starring in 2 successful shows, and married to the love of her life. She tells me motherhood changed her perspective on her career and how she approaches roles. Want to know what Motherhood in Hollywood is all about? You need to listen to this episode.

We talked about her role in season 6 of OITNB which she’s filming now. In fact we thought she may have let it slip that she’s in the next season during our interview. But I checked her Instagram and it looks like she’s been posting about it so the coast is clear which is good cause I didn’t want to edit that out!

Beth Dover as Linda Ferguson on Orange Is The New Black

Dover talks about the surprise of booking the role of Linda on season 3 of OITNB. The role was originally a small co-star part that blossomed into something much better and life-changing. She’s now been on the show for 2 season and will be on the next season as well.

She’s also starring in season three of Comedy Central’s historical satire series “Another Period.” The show follows the lives of the obscenely rich Bellacourt family and their many servants in turn-of-the-century Rhode Island in 1902.  Beth plays Blanche, the long suffering housemaid who works for the family and is regularly in and out of mental hospitals.  The show also stars Natasha Leggero, Riki Lindhome, Michael Ian Black, David Wain, Christina Hendricks, Jason Ritter, and Paget Brewster and airs TUESDAYS 10:30/9:30c.

Beth Dover and her husband Joe Lo Truglio

Beth is also a huge advocate for women’s rights and we talk about her support of Planned Parenthood, the ACLU, and the HRC. Basically, she’s an awesome human being who is giving me major inspo right now. And you will get inspired by her story too!
