Who’s geeking out with me over Rogue One?

Up here in Casa de Brooker it’s all about Rogue One: A Star Wars Story today! Haven’t seen the new trailer yet? What have you been doing? Here it is. Watch it then let’s discuss.

Right?? For those of you who might not know, I’m a big sci-fi fan, mostly Star Trek, but I do get down with Star Wars. At first I was bit confused about this movie. Why do we need it? Then I thought, that’s dumb. Why do we need any awesome movie?

Here’s the deal. Lucasfilm’s ROGUE ONE, takes place before the events of Star Wars: A New Hope. It tells the story of unlikely heroes who have united to steal plans to the dreaded Death Star. A story I didn’t know I was interested in, until now.

There’s actually a ton of tangential stories that could be told from the Star Wars universe. I think this is a great place to start. I wonder if we’ll see the origin stories of the Wookies? What’s Boba Fett’s story? How did Jabba get so fat? I digress…

The cast includes Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Jiang Wen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed, and Forest Whitaker. ROGUE ONE is directed by Gareth Edwards.

ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY arrives in theaters everywhere on December 16th and I for one, cannot wait to see it!
