I love throwing parties! And when it’s a party combining my favorite products and people then it’s a win/win. I recently hosted my first ever Motherhood in Hollywood Back to School Swag party and it was a hit! Mamas in the MIH Community came from all over SoCal to get their BTS swag on.

If you don’t know how the MIH Swag parties work it’s simple: we are gifted so many things through MIH that we couldn’t possibly keep it all. And it makes me so happy to be able to share the cool products and services we’ve been introduced to with our friends.

So the guests get a swag bag and fill it up with everything from beauty, wellness and food, to toys, Disney, and clothes. They curate their own swag!

The MIHBTSSwag party was hosted at the Coop in Studio City. This bright colored place is perfect for kids and all the Instagram photo ops could you dream of. #Priorities right?

Kids could write a note to their teacher for the first day of school.

Take a look at some of the highlights from the food to the swag and hopefully you’ll be inspired to get these essentials for the new school year.

1. Clif Kids Zbar

Without a doubt these were a big hit! Each kid got a backpack stuffed with Zbars and several to sample during the party. Zbars are playtime snacks designed with active kids in mind. Made from wholesome, organic ingredients, like rolled oats, and available in age-appropriate sizes, Clif Kid Zbar delivers a nutritious combination of kid-friendly flavors and energy for active bodies.

These bars are USDA organic, non-GMO, and have no high fructose corn syrup. But most importantly, and what all my guests confirmed, they taste great and the kids love them. Zbars are an easy way to sneak in a healthy snack which is why I included them in my back to school essentials.

2. Mabel’s Labels

The squeals of delight when the moms saw their Mabel’s Labels could be heard from blocks around! That’s because they know how important these labels are. Mabel’s Labels lets you label each and every one of your kids items for school so you can rest assured they will come back to your house.

You can use these stylish, washable labels on everything from clothes and shoes, to hardware like lunchboxes and supplies. And they are customizable so your little one can pick out their favorite colors and artwork so they can get excited about labeling everything. Use the code HOLLYWOOD10 to get 10% off your first order of labels at mabelslabels.com.

3. Planet Box

These might be the most stylish lunch boxes around. I’m sure  you’ve seen them everywhere and always wondered where to get them. Each guest went home with a Rover Tray from Planet Box! The Rover is designed to make life easier for parents and healthier for kids. The five distinct compartments make planning and packing lunch an easy process with dedicated spaces for a main, veggies, fruits, snacks and a treat. Made of durable and safe stainless steel, it is designed to last while minimizing the need for plastic bags and containers.

4. Himalayan Pink Popcorn

You had me at popcorn – then you kept me with the savory salty flavor of Himalayan Pink Popcorn from Lesser Evil. This popcorn is unique because it’s made with organic coconut oil, organic popcorn, and Himalayan pink salt.

It has only 50 calories a bag! Guests were scooping these up by the handfuls because it’s that delicious. This is something you can pack for your kids or as a snack for yourself.

5. Le Pain Quotidien

Let me just tell you how blown away everyone was by how beautiful the new Plant Love menu items are from Le Pain Quotidien. They served up fresh strawberry toast, salmon and turkey tea sandwhiches, hibiscus croissants and good karma watermelon salad.

Not only was it beautiful, but it was delicious as well. LPQ’s Plant Love menu celebrates how plant-based ingredients such as hemp, quinoa, poppy seeds, and organic flowerola, can provide wholesome nourishment to our bodies and together, as a community, we can help make a positive impact on the planet.

In tandem with this new Plant Love menu, Le Pain Quotidien has a partnership with The National Forest Foundation to help plant 26,000 trees to help with reforestation in National Parks and with every ‘Good Karma’ bowl they sell from this menu, they will plant a tree. So not only are they serving up good food, they’re serving up goodness in the world.

6. Pranamat ECO

The Pranamat ECO is something I’ve talked a lot about on my Instagram. It’s an accupressure mat that’s designed to relieve stress, tension, headaches and improve circulation. This is a great gift for parents who want to take a few minutes to decompress while the kids are in school. Use my code HOLLYWOOD20 to get 20% off your order.

7. Five Below Backpacks

If you don’t have Five Below on your back to school radar, get it on there! This store has so many school supply options for $5 and under. Every product is aimed at kids or tweens and it’s a mecca of fun colorful school supplies. They also have a wide variety of backpacks for $5. That’s a steal!

The best part of the MIH back to school swag party was seeing all the amazing mamas and their kiddos having a good time. Many of them have kids starting school for the first time this fall and are embarking on a new adventure. I am so grateful for the community of women who support Motherhood in Hollywood. Thank you to everyone who came to get ready for back to school!
