The Oscars are coming! The Oscars are coming! If you live in LA or have turned on any news magazine show lately you’ll know we’re just a few days away from the 89th Annual Academy Awards. This is my Super Bowl people. So I’m highlighting who I think will take home the trophy, and who will actually win the night!
La La Land seems to be this year’s Oscar darling. Every year at least one film peeks out from the pack to get the most attention and this year it’s La La Land. Whether you love it or think it’s overrated, it would be a huge surprise if it didn’t win. I personally loved it but some of my fellow actors didn’t which is crazy bananas to me. But they can get their own website to vent about why they have no taste in film. It has 14 nominations and could make Oscar history so I can’t wait to watch!

Denzel Washington will win for Fences. He is an Academy favorite and an incredible actor. I know early on insiders thought Casey Affleck would win but I’m not so sure anymore. And Viola Davis could win for Best Supporting Actress for Fences. She’s been on a roll so that wouldn’t be much of a surprise.
But the big winners of the night are going to be the political speeches. The country is a hot mess right now and it’s really all anyone in California can talk about. I kind of hope Meryl Streep wins again so we can get another amazing speech! But if she doesn’t I have a feeling another impassioned actor or producer will have something to say. I can’t wait!
